Ruth spent her early years in Devon exploring the sinister and brooding Dartmoor and later the Welsh landscape encouraged a love of nature and observation of all things wild and strange. Now living in Hampshire this landscape is providing new challenges and responses. She has a lifelong fascination with Romanesque Art and this too has provided an endless source of inspiration for all her work.
She is both a ceramist and printmaker and her prints reflect the development of a visual language that has been synthesised from past ceramic work translated into original prints using Collagraph and Drypoint techniques that create rich surface textures.
