Artist’s Statement:
I am lucky that I do have a studio at home albeit in the windowless garage and at first, I was keen to express my reaction to suddenly finding myself in a complete lockdown situation and so isolated from my printmaking community. The first prints I made reflected those reactions but then the weather was so glorious I turned my efforts towards artist books that could be made on a kitchen table printing by hand burnishing and cutting up past prints and collaging them into fresh stories and responding to nature growing all around me in profusion. The whole house became a studio workshop with projects in various stages of completion all around and being on my own I never had to worry about clearing up!
However, this last lockdown has not been so easy with the sense of enclosure being reinforced.
