Artist’s Statement:
I printed this image at home using a baren, as I do not have a press, working from drawings and photos which I made on site.
Much of my work is inspired by the natural world, and history, and this tree is a local wonder, pre-dating the nearby church and even Christianity itself, as it has been estimated to be up to 4,000 years old – one of the oldest trees in Europe.
As an illustrator, I like to look for a strong narrative for the images which I make.
