Early in 2018 the National Trust began to assess possible future uses of their property Leith Hill Place, formerly owned by the grandson of England’s most famous potter, Josiah Wedgwood III, and subsequently by one of England’s most beloved composers, Ralph Vaughan Williams, the house was also frequented by Charles Darwin. Three local artists – Mary Branson, Penny Green and Julie Hoyle – were invited to undertake residencies and to produce work that drew on and reflected this rich history.
