Explore design with cut-paper stencils, and screen printing layers of beautiful, sustainable natural dye colour onto paper.
This course is creative and practical, allowing time for personal interpretation. You will learn how to make botanical print pastes; focusing on local and bio-waste plant materials. Inspired by sketchbooks, artists, nature, or own projects, you will transform initial research into screen-printing stencils. The tutor will introduce a series of playful studies encouraging you to explore ideas, and producing patterns by over-printing images. There will be opportunities to use colour modifiers, and extracts, to embellish and enhance designs.
You can expect to achieve at least two multi-layered A4 prints, together with technical samples, and experimental research work.
The course is suitable for everyone: those who are beginners to print, as well as experienced students wanting to widen their knowledge and use natural dyes.
The session will close with a mini exhibition of the work produced over the weekend.
Dates: Weekend 11/12 November
Times: 10am to 4pm
Cost: £190 / Members £180
