Summer School – Rust and Eco Dyeing with Jule Mallett and Gill Jenkins – 9/10/11/12 August (4 days)

Over the course of four days, Gill and Jule will take you through the processes of eco-Dyeing and rust Dyeing.
Gill will show you how to use leaves, flowers and bark to produce delicate prints on paper and fabric, and then Jule will show you how to use rusty objects to create beautiful patterns on cloth pieces.
She will explain the process involved and demonstrate which fabrics give the best results and offer advice on the best equipment and materials for rust Dyeing.
Towards the end of the course, Gill and Jule will demonstrate how to create simple books from your prints using concertina folding, pamphlet stitch and coptic stitch.
This summer school is suitable for anyone who wants to explore mark-making using eco friendly materials.

* Despite limited spaces, this in-house beginner’s linocut course is offered at a subsidised price to encouraged people to learn new skills. Numbers are limited to 5 to allow for social distancing within the studio. You will be asked to wear a mask when you are NOT working within your own designated, socially distanced, space.
