Monotype with Kate Dicker SWE RE – Saturday 27 September – 10am to 4pm

This one-day workshop is ideal for newcomers to monotype and for those with some experience. The medium encourages spontaneity. Equally, time will be given to discuss planning and interpreting a subject whether semi-representational or abstract.
Using transparent A4 perspex plates, inks will be rolled up as a flat colour and transferred to a plate. Kate will show ways to create shapes: gestural wipes, expressive textures and use of stencils or masks. These will become multi-layered colours as they pass through the studio etches press several times. Hand burnishing is an option. Kate will help with colour management and effective mixing.
At the end of the day participants will have produced several exciting and experimental monotype (one-off) prints.
Suitable for beginners and refreshers alike, all basic materials are included in the course price.
Date: Saturday 27 September
Times: 10am to 4pm
Cost: £95 / Members £90
