Mezzotint with Jane Stobart RE and Mustafa Sidki – Weekend 4/5 September

This is the very first time a Mezzotint course has been offered at the studio.

Mezzotint is an intriguing intaglio printmaking process, invented way back in the seventeenth century, which produces prints with a subtle gradations of tone and deep, rich, velvety blacks.

Tutors Jane Stobart and Mustafa Sidki will be using pre-rocked plates to speed up the process and you will be shown how to create images by scraping and burnishing the surface of these copper plates.

As always when Jane and Mus teach with us, it promises to be a busy and exciting weekend in the studio with two distinguished tutors leading the course!
