This course is a gentle and supportive introduction to the basics of lino-cutting. You will be shown different linocut tools and will practice mark-making with these. Rolling out and applying the ink will be demonstrated and, using a simple registration sheet and press, you’ll print your images.

We’ll look at your pre-prepared images (details will be given before the course) and you will be shown how to transfer them to the plate. You will the cut these images and print them.

Time will be allocated for cleaning up as this is an essential skill too, and we will review your work. This course is suitable for complete beginners and those who need a good refresh!
