Intermediate Drypoint – An Exploration of Rembrandt’s Revolutionary Inking Technique with Artists Jane Stobart RE and Mustafa Sidki – Weekend 4/5 December – 10am to 4pm
December 4 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM GMT£220
In this course, we will be looking at the way that Rembrandt inked up his drypoint (and etched) plates. He was a great innovator when printing his work, using a method known now as ‘plate tone’. Each prints in an edition, would be slightly different, creating a unique series of the same image now called a ‘Variable Edition’.
You will create an A4 drypoint on Perspex, and experiment with this method of inking, using one or more colours, to introduce atmosphere and tone to each print.
You may like to bring a pre-selected image along (A4). Any image will be welcome – plants, animals, faces, old shoes, abstract shapes or whatever you have in mind.
We are looking forward to working with you.
