Etched Lino with Molly Brown – Weekend 11/12 April – 10am to 4pm

If you are already a fan of linocut, this course offers an opportunity to add new and exciting dimensions to your prints.
Molly Brown works with relief printmaking and has been using the exploratory process of applying caustic soda to etch lino plates before cutting into the surface of the plate with a variety of tools.
This process of etching lino creates interesting, subtle and gestural marks alongside traditional lino carving, resulting in imagery that challenges the perception of traditional linocut prints.
This weekend course is suitable for all levels of experience, beginners and those who wish to further develop their linocut/relief skills.
Dates: Weekend 11/12 April
Times: 10am to 4pm
Price: £220 / Members £210

Molly Brown worked for ten years in sustainable agriculture and food growing before turning to creative work in 2018 and brings a strong interest in ecology, plant sciences and agriculture to her printmaking. Since graduating from her MFA in 2022 she has been awarded both the Printmaking Today State of the Art Graduate Award and the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers Gwen May Graduate Award.
“Using direct, often monochromatic relief processes, my prints engage human relationships to nature through an interplay of material and process. My prints are place-based and organically informed by chance encounters with wildlife and landscapes. They use the craft traditions of relief print and handmade paper to create images and substrates that reward close observation and engender orientations of care.”
