An introduction to applying colour, pattern and design to cloth.

On this 4-week evening course you will explore a different textile technique each evening:

Week 1 – Using a silkscreen and stencils
Week 2 – Procion dye
Week 3 – Indigo dye
Week 4 – Heat press (sublimation printing)

These evening classes are suitable for beginners and refreshers alike.

Places are limited to 4 to allow for social distancing. You will be asked to wear a mask and bring your own refreshments.

In response to today’s throwaway society, Textile Artist Jule Mallett combines the old, worn, devalued and forgotten to create mixed media and stitched textile pieces which celebrate the beauty of the imperfect, unfinished and mundane. Jule uses hand stitch, collage, assemblage, drawing and print to create original, quirky 2D and 3D pieces.
