An Introduction to Wood Engraving with Kate Dicker – Saturday 15 March – 10am to 4pm
This one-day workshop is ideal for beginners and improvers as an introduction to this relief printmaking medium that produces a plethora of fine lines and textured tones that can be both exquisite and expressive. .
Participants will experiment with handling each of the varied tools and consider best composition to enjoy engraving on an end-grain woodblock (size:5.5 x 5.5cms) and print a small edition at the end of the day. This medium is ideal for continuing working at home without a press.
Kate will bring all the tools required for the day, including a selection of spitstickers, scorpers and gravers!

Kate Dicker is an elected member of The Society of Wood Engravers (SWE) and contributes to the Society’s journal Multiples. In addition to this, she is an elected Fellow of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) and she has served on the committees for both societies.
