This course is a taster course and quick introduction to photopolymer etching to whet your appetite. It focuses on the practical side of producing a plate and a print, rather than on the technical side of creating an image. You will need to send an A6 image to the tutor in advance of the course which she will print onto acetate – you will be given details about this before the course.

Your tutor will take you through the process of preparing your plate and exposing your image.

Inking the plate will be modelled and you will ink, wipe and print your own plates.

Time will be put aside to clean up and review our work.

Note: there will be time for breaks during this course while each student uses the dark room.
