An Introduction to Linocut with David Crosby – Fridays 7/14 February

There’s so much more to linocut printmaking than meets the eye but, if you are a novice, this is where you start and this two week course will teach you all the basic techniques.

David will show you how to prepare the lino before you start, how to create, cut and print a design on one piece of lino and finally how to print a two-coloured image using two lino blocks.

You will learn about the tools used, mark-making techniques, the best papers for printing, how to use a printing press and be given guidance on inking up your lino blocks to achieve a perfect linocut print.

All materials are provided, including a set of Japanese Linocut Tools, with extra paper available to purchase from the studio shop if required.
