Artist/Printmaker Ruth Barrett-Danes returns to Ochre to teach with us again – early booking is advised!
Ruth’s collagraph course will embrace a range of elements using Gesso, Plaster, Tape and Carborundum to allow each individual develop a language to interpret their personal imagery.
Working on Environmount Board as a substrate allows for the possibility of Drypoint marks to be included in the imagery. Time permitting the course will also the investigate the potential of a Drypoint paper stocked at Ochre which allows a greater freedom in the range of mark marking and is useful in multiple plate printing.
Inking, as always, is key to the successful outcome of the print and is a significant element in the course.
This course aims to provide a fun environment for participants to relax, enjoy and simply discover the vast range of printing possibilities. Ideas come through the process of making and the weekend provides a chance to explore and share the journey through print with fellow printmakers ready to share their experiences and enthusiasm and to provide a library of ideas to take forward and develop.
Though experimentation is encouraged, the observation of good studio practice is expected and essential throughout the sessions.
Dates: Weekend 9/10 April
Times: 10am to 4pm
Cost: £190 / Members £180
This course is suitable for everyone and all materials are included in the course price.
