This imaginative weekend workshop with Charles Shearer provides the perfect opportunity for you to develop ideas directly from your sketchbooks, using simple stencil and monoprint processes, inked rollers, thin acetate and newsprint.

These relatively straightforward processes with the free play of shapes, colours and mark-making, can produce complex and exciting results.

Charles will give demonstrations of each process as your weekend of discovery unfolds, offering a wonderful opportunity to learn from this brilliant and innovative tutor who trained at the Royal College of Art.

Charles Shearer is a celebrated contemporary British artist who teaches printmaking in art schools across the UK. His prints are inspired by his extensive travels both here and abroad and he is regularly commissioned to illustrate books and magazines.

Frequently returning to his birthplace of Orkney, Charles regularly travels to Ireland and Wales as well, in search of the ruins, castles and follies to be found there and these influences are reflected in his work.
