We are thrilled to announce that artist Marcus Rees Roberts will be joining us at Ochre Print Studio this September to give a Masterclass in his printmaking techniques. A day of demonstrations and explorations with many opportunities to ask questions and seek advice with an emphasis on monotype and free and expressive woodcut prints.
Marcus will begin the day with a talk about his work, its influences and how he develops ideas and narratives in his own work.
He will then give a demonstration of his inking technique on monotype plates and those attending will be given the opportunity to try these techniques for themselves before taking a break for lunch.
In the afternoon session, Marcus will demonstrate his approach to woodcut, including his cutting and inking techniques, after which everyone will be invited to experiment for themselves, with a review of the resulting prints before the end of the day.
All materials will be provided and no previous experience or specialist knowledge of woodcut required. Those attending this Masterclass are encouraged to bring their own plates and prints for Marcus to review during the day.
Date: Friday 27 September
Time: 10am to 5pm
Cost: £90 / Members £85
