Georgie Jefferies is a textile and print artist who graduated from Bath Spa University in 2008. She has since worked as a textile designer and teacher and spent some time in Tanzania developing print products for an organisation producing work with Tanzanian deaf and disabled adults. The influence of this and similar travels is evident in many of Georgie’s vibrant colourful designs. We are super excited that Georgie is our very first textile artist in residence. Georgie is familiar with screen printing from her fantastic textile work, but it will be fascinating to see her colourful ideas develop as she explores other print techniques. We are delighted that we are able to support a young artist just starting out on her business development journey.
“I am really enjoying experimenting with producing my prints as artworks on paper and working within a creative environment with other local artists. This year is key step towards fulfilling my ambition of creating a defined brand with use of colour and abstract pattern, although I will also continue to experiment with the illustrative side to my work.”
