Candid Arts Trust is pleased to invite you to the private view of our new exhibition this Thursday January the 13th.
The first of two shows featuring 10 printmakers from the UK and 10 pprintmakers from Italy.
As part of the opening, Candid Projection Room will present a short film and video evening in the ground floor gallery featuring the some of the best new filmmakers and video artists.
The exhibition "London-Florence Exchange" will take place at Candid Galleries in London between 10th and 23rd January 2011 and at Il Bisonte Gallery in Florence between 3rd and 18th February 2011. It is an exchange project between Candid Arts Trust and The Bisonte International School of Graphic Arts and will include twenty young artists: ten British-based and ten Italian-based recent graduates or graduating students, working in the field of printmaking, including etching, lithography, screenprinting & woodcut.
This project builds on a programme of exchange exhibitions that began with Sofia-London in April 2010. The exhibition aims at putting together a selection of works by talented emerging artists from two European countries with the intention of encouraging an intercultural dialogue between the artists and to stimulate cultural exchange between the two countries. It will present to the public in London and in Florence a collection that uses the traditional crafts of printmaking to create original and exciting new works.
Candid Arts Trust is a self-funded charity that promotes and supports new and innovative art & design talent by providing a comprehensive exhibition platform via its central London gallery spaces and its website. It also encourages art education offering a comprehensive range of drawing and painting classes and workshops.
